Interactive Classroom Makeover Video Contest Entry Guide

What if you could have a chance at winning an
eInstruction Classroom Makeover valued at over $25,000?

You can! Just enter your music video in our Classroom Makeover Video Contest. One lucky winner from each of three grade categories: K-5, 6-8, 9-12; will be selected by a combination of public vote and judging panel.

Video Guidelines

Please be sure to follow the contest rules when planning, creating and submitting your video entry. Your video must:

  • Be in the format of a music video that is either a song parody on an original song that demonstrates or envisions the use of technology in the classroom such as:
    • How your class used technology to make a class project better
    • How a class project could have been better with technology
    • How you plan to use technology in a class project
    • How your class uses technology every day to make the learning experience great
    • Your vision of a classroom that is creatively and effectively using technology to enhance learning
  • Include the teacher submitting and at least 1 student 'on the screen'. All students that are in the video must be in the grade category for which the video is being submitted.
  • Include 'eInstruction' once in the lyrics of the song.
  • End by directing viewers to the contest website (www.eimakeover.com) to vote for the best video.
  • Not exceed 2:30 minutes in length. Due to differences in rendering times for different video formats, entries that are one or two seconds longer than 2:30 may still be accepted.

Submission Guidelines

  1. The entry must be submitted by a teacher in a public or private school teaching grades K-12 or equivalent in the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), Australia or New Zealand.

  2. Submissions will be accepted between 12:00 PM EDT (16:00 GMT) September 15, 2008 and October 24, 2008. Entries not submitted by 11:59 AM EDT (15:59 GMT) on October 24 will not be accepted. So give yourself time, plan ahead, and don't submit at the last minute!

  3. The teacher entering the contest must certify that they have secured appropriate permission to post their video to the public Internet on behalf of their school.

Be sure to pay attention to the specific things the judges will be looking for, and their weights:

  1. The effectiveness of demonstrating use of technology in the classroom (40%)

  2. The extent to which your entry demonstrates collaboration between student(s) and teacher(s) in creating the video (40%)

  3. The overall creativity and spirit of your entry (20%)
